well, it really depends on what your looking for.
despite terreria's description, it really is not at all like minecraft, it's more of an rpg than a sandbox, while minecraft is designed so you can build whatever you want, but the fighting is mediocre.

the second highest effective range for a class is the engy's sentry gun+wrangler, because as far as i know the sentry doesn't have damage drop off
EVERYONE ELSE? medium range at most.
sniper? instant kills with an unlimited effective range.
